“science is increasingly shaping society. i want to live in a world where the people shaping society understand and represent the people living within it. we've got a lot of work to do”

“we all hold unconscious biases, myself included, that have formed due to our experiences and environment. When people are surprised to meet a physicist who looks like me, it isn't really their fault. It's often the first time they've met a physicist who is a woman, and looks so starkly different than einstein or sheldon cooper, and it just feels weird.

the only way to change the status quo is to introduce more diversity; to deconstruct the stereotypes we grew up with.”

“i got involved in this project because i believe in the capacity of art to affect our perceptions and biases. in today's climate, working across boundaries is more important than ever.”
