A Little About Me

  • I embrace a good challenge and like to push my limits.

I can be a little competitive with myself. Whether it's intellectual or physical, by learning a new skill, trying something new and difficult, or diving off a 700+ foot building to get my adrenaline pumping, I’m up for it.

  • From a young age, I learned to embrace different perspectives.

My mom is Vietnamese, my dad is Cameroonian, and I was raised across countries, but largely in France. That gave me a global outlook and showed me how both the similarities and differences in our worldviews can be powerful. It also made me deeply curious about people, history, and the ways we all live.

  • I collect experiences, not things.

I’ve spent significant time in countries, where many people only have the basics that are necessary for survival, yet they’re still among the happiest people I’ve ever met. It’s taught me valuable lessons about what is (and isn’t) important in life. I’m more interested in what I can do, sense, and learn than what I have.

  • I practice dynamic movements that train both my body and my mind.

The physical activities that I practice, like Kung Fu, go far beyond the physical. I immerse myself in the philosophies, which teach a lifestyle of focus. It’s a way for me to balance both structure and creative expression, which helps me decompress and stay grounded.

  • I learned more about math through music, and vice versa.

A lot of research out there suggests that math and music are connected. Both were a big part of my life, as I always had a knack for math and piano, and joined a rock band in college.

MY ADVICE

“You can be both a ‘nerd’ and whatever else you want! And you can be proud of being both. There is no shame in representing what you are interested in.”

WHO I AM

People describe me as..

  • Dynamic.

I am a thrill-seeker and considered a bit wild by my friend group. I love new sensations, energy, and experiences. There’s not much I wouldn’t try.

  • Disciplined.

I’ve learned important life lessons from my practices, like Kung Fu. It’s helped me develop consistency, patience, and even time management. That kind of discipline shapes a lot of who I am.

  • Friendly.

I’m a pretty social, welcoming, and encouraging person. There's a lot of negativity in people's lives, so I try to stay positive.

  • Goofy.

I joke a lot. I like making awkward situations less awkward with some humor. I try to keep things lighthearted and bring some playfulness to life.

  • Intellectual.

I spend a lot of time learning through books, documentaries, and travel. I love engaging with ideas through the arts, literature, and history.
