A Little About Me

  • My research combines my many passions.

I’m passionate about the outdoors, solving problems, and making a positive impact for endangered animals. I study the most endangered species of bat in the US, and develop methods to help it recover.

  • I love being in nature.

In college I discovered that Biology can be used as a tool for protecting wildlife. The more we understand a species, the more we can support them and keep them safe as our cities expand.

  • I have a terrible memory so I have to write everything down.

I rely on written notes and reminders to keep track of my important tasks and appointments.

  • When I was young, I didn’t think I’d be a biologist.

My path required a lot of patience and commitment. I never followed a straight line, and that’s OK.

MY ADVICE

“Science is for everyone. The question is, what's your science? You just have to figure out what you care about and go for it."
