Chapter 1

Childhood in India

BALANCING WORK & PLAY

01 / My parents worked in the garment export business in India, and we lived above the factory, watching them work tirelessly. This instilled in us the values of hard work and giving back to the community. I grew up as the middle child with two brothers.

02/ My mother was the driving force behind my motivation to become self-sufficient. She would often tell me, "I want you to be independent."

03 /  I took up rollerblading (one of my favorite hobbies to this day) and learned how to balance my schoolwork with extracurricular activities.
